Tasteful Tuesday - Slow Cooker Chicken Bog

My family loves chicken bog and it is a frequent request in our home, but it takes some effort. Last week I had something on my schedule every single night. I knew I wouldn’t have time to prepare chicken bog the traditional way, so I tried it in the crock pot instead. It was a hit! My family received the home cooked meal they wanted, and the Lord helped me organize a recipe that fit into my busy schedule. Put your crock pot to work for you—I love mine!

Slow Cooker Chicken Bog



2 cups long grain brown rice
32oz organic vegetable broth
12 oz all natural turkey sausage
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp ground red pepper

Cube chicken and slice sausage. Put them in the crock pot with remaining ingredients. Cook on low for 6 hours. Watch the liquid and if needed add a little more broth or water—slow cookers can vary. Serve with a side of veggies. Makes approx 6-8 servings.
